sorry i havent been updating for the past week. been having problems with my internet connnection:( im using wireless (i.e. leaching off unsecured networks) coz my lan port is not working!! i didnt do anything about it until the past couple of days when ALL the unsecured wireless network were blocked:( i was mega-ly traumatized. the thought of being disconnected with my family/friends/world was really scary!! i bought a new lan cable but it's still not working!! even if it did, the connection would be highly erratic. omg. i hope the IT people can help me with this. i also must mention how expensive making a tel call to get help is (im paying abt CAD30cts/min = abt SGD55cts/min)!! coz they make you hold on the line for ages! sigh. i just blew CAD$4 on 2 phone call. how maddening. bah.

anyway on lighter note, i signed up for the ubc law students' legal advice program (or more affectionately known as L-SLAP). this program is something like pro bono work where we would go to clinics and provide legal advice to those people who cannot afford it. because i could speak mandarin and cantonese, they assigned me to the clinic in chinatown! i went for my 1st clinic session 1 week ago. it is really such an exciting experience!! and a very challenging too - coz i am really on my own- handling client, taking their instructions, researching, consulting a supervising lawyer and of course advising the clients and drafting documents accordingly. the ultimate highlight would be going to trial and arguing in front of a judge yourself - haha. yes we get to do that (the bc courts have this arrangement with ubc law school - how cool is that?) but i havent gotten a trial myself. heh. it would be pretty exciting!

yup i will be off to a roadtrip to seattle/portland over the long thanksgiving weekend with sulynn, david and jon! please help us pray for journey mercies!! :) yayy. excited!! premium factory outlets, seattle cheesecake factory here we come!!! heh. will update when im back!!
