the weekend was great - as usu:) but it was a pity i cldnt join my friends to go stanley park coz i was really mega tired from saturday.. and it was raining and quite freezing cold. the last time i went stanley park, the weather was this gloomy as well. hopefully i will be able to make a trip there on a hot and sunny day - before winter comes at least!! heh.

anyway on saturday, mich and i went to explore most parts of downtown vancouver! we covered alot alot alot of ground - literally and figuratively. haha. we even made our way back to mainland vancouver and went by 41 avenues on FOOT - to get to this really good and cheap jap restaurant! 6+ solid hours of walking is really quite a feat. haha.

we first took bus 4 down to waterfront station, which was just beside gastown. there werent much to see at gastown. the steam clock was a huge disappointment coz it was quite small. i expected it to be huge. but this historic district is quite pretty though. its cobblestone streets are lined with victorian buildings and beautiful lamp-posts.

beautiful flowers adorn the top of every lamppost! nice

the victorian-styled buildings!

the less-than-awe-inspiring steam clock. but it does emit steam from the top though!

mich and i posing with a statue of "gassy jack" apparently, "gassy jack" was a sailor that founded gastown, a settlement that sprang up around a tavern in 1867.

mich and i posing with a real cowboy-or so it seems. haha.
