ok here's some update:

i attended the international peer program last saturday. it is actually like an orientation event where international exchange students in ubc would be split into groups to complete a safety race - which is really a walk around campus to familarize ourselves with the security services provided for ubc students. it was quite impressive especially the safewalk program where there are volunteers to walk any student back to his/her residence or anywhere he/she wants to go - when it gets late. quite cool. but the "tour" got pretty boring and tiring after a while.

what was really amazing was that i was able to meet so many people from all over the world - there were like iranians, lebanese, turkish, british, japanese, koreans, prcs, malaysians, french and even a swedish in my group! it was so exciting and really a culture shock. vancouver is really such a cosmopolitan city!

this is a picture of my group - the Suzukis!

me and adelle, my senior peer i.e. buddy - she is born in canada but her family hails from philippines!

me and chingyee - my thai friend! she's really nice:) we are classmates in my intellectual property class and we sometimes walk back to our residence together. we got acquainted when we were both lost while trying to find the classroom for the lecture - that was when we tried asking each other for directions - to no avail of course. haha.
